PRODEX has been a major player in industrial logistics equipment since 1953. Based in Bourgbarré in Brittany, our company designs, manufactures and installs industrial conveyor systems, dynamic shelving and drawer racking. Discover our history, marked by innovation and constant adaptation.
1953
Prodex company was created in 1953 in Paris. It was decided to acquire the industrial site of Saint Hilaire (45) at the end of the 1950’s in order to manufacture metallic shelvings for shops and retails.
1960
Start of production
Manufacture of classic industrial shelving
and tool displays.
1978
The PRODEX teams decide to follow the market evolution and to orient the company toward a new concept, the “dynamic storage”.
PRODEX diversifies in order to respond to the arrival of the “logistics centers”; and the boom of the mass distribution.
1995
Production is transferred to another factory – the company moves to Mordelles (35) in Brittany.
Takeover of PRODEX by the SAVOYE Group.
PRODEX extends its range to meet global customer demand and offers a complete range of logistics equipment.
PRODEX then launched into the manufacture of dynamic storage units for ‘order preparation’.
2010
In 2010, PRODEX moves to the current production site in Bourgbarré (35), France. The installation on a modern and spacious site (2600 m2) with a land reserve of more than 3.5 ha, enables to consider future developments. The location near the Rennes-Angers axis provides flexibility for shippings.
At the same time, PRODEX is developing industrial conveyors to move goods from envelopes to pallets, ergonomic picking units and drawer racking.
2020
In 2020, PRODEX was acquired by MAVIPAL.
Two very complementary activities, both companies being specialized in storage solutions.
MAVIPAL is mainly active with industrialists, SMBs and large groups, for example in aeronautics, food industry or to equip warehouses and shop reserves in supermarkets.
With the acquisition of PRODEX, its field of activity opens up more directly to players in logistics and industrial logistics, and with their commercial and operational complementarity, the two companies have a fairly similar profile: years of experience, turnover, organisation, production in France, integrated design office, internal assembly teams.
2026
This year marks the acquisition of the MAVIPAL and PRODEX brands by STORAGIS, part of the TAP Group, which continues to expand.
